Donald Quigley

Donald Rex Quigley was called home by the lord Friday April 5th 2019. He was born at home in Kausooth, W.V. on February 22, 1931 to the late Lawrence and Mabel Yeater Quigley. Hethen was married to Ellen (Gilmore) Quigley for 71 years as of March 21, 2019 He is survived by two daughters and one son, Donna Lou (Terry) Logsdon, Debbie (Dave) Elson, all of Cameron. W.V. Lawrence Wesley (Michelle) Quigley of Winfield, W.V. and the late Sue (Fred) McCurdy. Preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses Clarice and James Reid, Mack and Freda Quigley, and Herb and Bertie Mathews. He loved all his grandchildren and enjoyed everyone of their smiles and faces. Tim (Anissa ) McCurdy, Andrew (Betty) McCurdy, Amanda (Chris) Lindsey, Jessica Pierrelus, Teresa (Jared) Yeater, Lacy (Robert) Howard, Noah (Neely) Logsdon, Mathew (Megan) Elson, Sara, Cole, Marisa and Luke Quigley, nieces and nephews, Donald (Robin) Quigley, Diane Mathews, Cathy Woods, James (Sherry) Reid, Sandy (Keith) Cumpston. He was a devoted Christian an Elder at the Big Run Christian Church of which he was a member for over eighty years. He was a Sunday school teacher and trustee for the church. He is considered one of the Patriarchs of the Big Run Christian Church. Donnie began his working career at a young age working on the oil rigs in the Marshall, Wetzel county areas of W.V. He worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways for four years, he then worked for the Penn Line Service, Forest Construction Company for forty years where he served as a foreman and a supervisor performing work all over W.V. and parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio. He also started a construction company, Q&M Construction, for which he stayed a part of till his passing. In his free time, Donnie loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed riding around in his Kubota UTV, and operating all his farm equipment. He loved working on the farm and enjoyed keeping farm animals. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques, He was known for his famous Oyster Stew at the annual Quigley family Christmas at the Big Run Community Center. He was a member of the Mason Lodge #17 in Cameron, W.V. for over fifty years. Visitation and services will be held at the Big Run Christian Church located 1.5 miles south of Cameron, W.V. on US Route 250 Dragon Highway. Visitation Sunday April 7, 2019 from 4-8 p.m., Monday April 8, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and services Tuesday April 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Thaddeus Allen and Reverend Earl Shaw. The burial will take place at the Big Run Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Run Christian Church, 2229 Reid Ridge Rd, Cameron, W.V. 26033.
