Memorial Services held Sunday, January 7, 2018 from noon until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church 1200 Third St. Moundsville, W.V.

David Hiram Burkett 81, of Moundsville, W.V. passed away Thursday December 21, 2017 at home. David was born February 1, 1938 in Moundsville, W.V. son of the late Nathan and Virginia Riley Burkett. A member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ of Moundsville, where he served as a Deacon. Served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Retired from Olin Corporation where he was a Lab Technician for 28 years. A member of the Moundsville Elks also a member of the Antique Car Club of

American Northern Panhandle. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Stephanie Kim Ludwig, one brother Jack and his beloved dog Molly. Survived by his wife Betty Simsa Burkett, one son David (Joan) Burkett, one brother Neil (Joanne) Burkett; four grandchildren Alyssa, Ashley, April, and Alexa; three great-grandchildren Braden, Aubreigh and Adrian, one brother-in-law Bob Simsa , one son-in-law Francis Ludwig, several nieces and nephews, cats Jimmy and Tommy.

A memorial service will be held Sunday January 7, 2018 from noon until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church 1200 Third St Moundsville, W.V. Officiating with Pastor Wesley Howsae. The Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Moundsville.
