Gary "Chief" Coe

Gary Leonard "Chief" Coe, 77 of Moundsville, W.V. passed away peacefully Thursday March 5, 2026, at home. He was born June 26, 1948, son of the late Lloyd "Dink" Coe and Dorothy Maxine Chambers Coe Arnold.


Chief was a dad, brother, grandfather, nephew, companion, and a friend to all.   He was a lifetime member of the Cameron First Christian Church. A graduate of the class of 1966 Cameron High School. Retired from Ormet as a Maintenance Welder with 41 years of service. Gary had a passion for restoring antique cars and building Lionel Trains and avid WVU, Steelers and Pirate Fan. He joined the Cameron Volunteer Fire Dept. in 1968 where he proudly served as Chief for 14 years from 76-83 and again from 86-92. Gary was also involved in the Mason's & Shriners, played softball, golfing , and hunting. 


Survived by his partner of 31 years, Jane Balderson, five daughters that adored him, Tamara Coe Ewart of Wheeling, W.V. Gara (Kevin) Patrick of Glen Dale, W.V. Jill Greene of Stephenson, Virginia, Hayley Coe Thompson, and Whitney Coe both of Cameron, W.V. one brother Dennis (Renee) Coe of Cameron, W.V. 10 grandchildren, Eisen, Jaise, Abby, Sydney, McKenna, Major, Bo. Korbin, Emily, Jessop, and Ayden and nephews, Matthew and Christian, two aunts Patty Scott & Phyllis Bushaw and  several cousins.


Family will receive friends Monday March 9, 2026, from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, W.V.  where services will bill be held Tuesday March 10, 2026  from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at noon with Pastor Kenny Hardway officiating.   Burial in Highland Cemetery Cameron, W.V. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Cameron Volunteer Fire Dept.  44 Main St. Cameron, W.V. 26033
