Howard Blake

Howard Arnold Blake 72, of Games Ridge Road passed away Wednesday July 8, 2020 He was born July 29, 1947 in Glen Dale, W.V. son of the late Roy and Georgia (Church) Blake. He was a farmer all of his life. He served in the United States Navy as a gunner's mate in the Vietnam War. Retired from Ireland Coal Company. While he was in the Navy he became a member of J Wendell Lodge #356 of Neptune Beach as a Master Mason, just last month Howard was presented with his fifty year membership pin. He was also a member of the NRA, VFW and American Legion. Preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Crow Blake, brothers, Richard and Loye Blake and sisters, Janice Blake and Roselee Kimberly. Survived by two sons, Jim (April) Blake and Joey (Christen) Blake all of Moundsville, and one daughter, Joyce (Kraig) Rulong of Proctor, W.V. one sister Erma (Don) Gray and one brother, Larry (Theresa) Blake all of Moundsville, seven grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa, and Jacob Rulong, Dalton, Kaylee, Cassidy and Kelsey Blake and numerous nieces and nephews. The family request that mask be worn and social distancing guidelines be followed as they receive friends Friday July 10th, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, W.V. where services will be held Saturday July 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Eskridge officiating. The Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military honors and the Cameron Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #17 will conduct graveside services at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, Roberts Ridge, W.V.
