Betty Whipkey

Betty Norma Jean Whipkey 90, formerly of Cameron, W.V. passed away Tuesday June 3, 2025, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home.  She was born October 28, 1934, in Wind Ridge, Pa. daughter of the late Peter and Mary Alice Pelkey Rhome.

She was a member of the Crabapple Baptist Church. She attended Richhill Township School. Betty was employed for Anderson Care Home for many years and retired from Moundview Nursing Home.  In addition to the passing of her parents, also preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Sterling Whipkey, six sisters, Helena Galentine, Georgia McQuay, Wilnetta Aston, Hazel Thomas, Mary Preston, Flossie Schrack and two brothers, William Rhome and Albert Rhome.

Survived by one daughter Brenda (Douglas) McFarland of St. Clairsville, Ohio three grandchildren, Matthew (Alyssa) McClelland, Taylor (Devin) Overholt and Devin McFarland four great-grandchildren Braxton McClelland and Matson McClelland and Remi Overholt and Jett Overholt.  A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Final resting place Mt. Carmel Cemetery, officiating Chaplin Dean Anderson.
