Billie Louise Gorby

Billie Louise Simms Gorby 95, of Moundsville, W.V. passed away Friday May 7th, 2021 at Peterson Rehab Center. She was born May 26, 1925 in Cameron, W.V. to David Carl and Christine Bachman Simms. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving Husband, Riley Gorby Sr. (J.R.) A graduate of W.V.U. with a BA and a MA degree in English and Latin, she taught at Philipi High, Roosevelt Jr. High and Charleston High before coming to Cameron to teach and retire there. She is a Lifelong Member of the Presbyterian Church and a member of Kappa Delta Pi National educational honorary, also a Lifetime Member of Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Cameron Post #18. Surviving are several cousins; Donna (Gary) Palmer, Betty (Rich) Heafy, Mike (Brenda) Virgin, Rita Lewis, Phil Lewis and Leesia Huffner, Tony Luskoski, Mary (Robert) Lehman, several special friends; Charles Minton, Bob Hunt. Betty Suhodolski, Flossie Williams, Judy and Donald Dobbs, Cindy Elza, Margaret Williamson. Her loving caregivers, Diana Magers and Linda Goddard and Donna Burton. Family will receive friends Tuesday May 11, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 12th from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at noon at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, W.V. with Pastor Tim Wilt officiating. Interment will be held at the Highland Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Wade, Peterson Rehabilitation and Valley Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Billie Louise.
