George Cumpston

George Randolph Cumpston, 89 of Fish Creek, Cameron, WV passed away Saturday November 11, 2023, at Liza's Place. He was born June 7, 1934, in Kausooth, WV son of the late Glenn Russell & Freda Lucille Grandon Cumpston. George was a member of the Kausooth Church of Christ. A United States Air Force Veteran where he served in Korea War/Cold War. A member of the Cameron Masonic Lodge #439, Cameron Legion Post #18 and the Cameron Moose. Retired truck driver from Chemical Leamon Co. & a member of the Teamsters Union #175 Charleston, WV. Preceded in death by siblings, Lucille Bartrug, Nancy Moore, Russell Cumpston, sister-in-law Helen Cumpston, brother-in-law, Terry Bowman and Bud Cosgray. Survived by his wife, Nancy Finnegan Cumpston, three daughters, Sherry Johnson of Cameron, WV: Peggy Cumpston of Moundsville, WV and Gail (William) Porter of Cameron, WV. sisters, Betty Stewart of Burton, WV, Janice Cosgray of Burton, WV, Rene Hanshue of Louville, Ky, Susan Bowman of Dublin, Ohio; one brother, Charles Jim Cumpston of Fort Dixon, NJ, 8 grandchildren, Danielle Hansen, Tyler Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Clara Simmons, Anna Simmons, Cody Cumpston, Caleb Cumpston and Derek Sharpenberg, 11 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Cassie, Dalton, Salem. Gabe, Zane, Olive, Rennick, Adaline, Zoe, Emilia and his beloved dog Brutis, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends Tuesday November 14, 2023, from noon until time of services at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Sam Bartrug and Pastor Dick Bartrug officiating at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 39 Maple Ave. Cameron, WV.
