Okla "Okey" Dale Burton 82, of Moundsville, W.V. passed away Thursday August 28, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Okey was born August 1, 1943, in Moundsville, W.V. son of the late Okla Earsy and Merle Virginia (Hall) Burton.
He retired from the Centre Foundry in Warwood, W.V. A member of the Volunteer Fire Department with over 60 years of service. A United States Army Veteran. A Christian by faith. Also, a member of the BS Moundsville Breakfast Club. Okey possessed a lifelong enthusiasm for classic car restoration and tinkering with old tractors and among his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for years to come, his love for life and the love Okey and Shirley shared will never be forgotten.Â
Preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters, Michelle Elaine & Misty Lynn, sisters, Shirley Stocklask, Linda Barr and brother Samuel Burton.Â
Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Logsdon Burton, one son, Okey (Janina) Burton; one daughter, Beth (Thomas) Phillips; four sisters, Frances (Gene) Persinger, Judy (Joe) Frey, Diane (Sam) Whitlatch and Virginia (Bobby) Richmond; two brothers, Jim (Tammy) Burton and Alfred Burton and one sister-in-law Joyce Burton all of Moundsville, W.V. five grandchildren, Darrick (Mindy) Phillips, Lyndsey (Bobby) Knicely, Whitney Burton, Logan Phillips and Lakyn Phillips and two great-grandchildren, Adalyn Phillips and Taytum Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.Â
Family and friends will be received Monday, September 1, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday September 2, from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Wesley Howsare and Pastor David Logsdon at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, W.V. where the Moundsville Volunteer Fire Department will include a final call and a ceremonial raising of the ladders and a flag presentation in his honor also the Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military honors at his final resting place in Valley Brook Memorial Garden, Moundsville, W.V.
